Blackburn Rovers will host Luton Town at Ewood Park this weekend in the Championship. Can they come out on top?
Blackburn Rovers started the season brightly, but since then have faltered. Their last two fixtures resulted in a loss to West Brom at home and a draw against Middlesbrough away. They currently occupy 10th spot in the Championship table. Their hopes for the play-offs look bleak at the moment, but it is still very early.
The former Premier League winners will look to turn around their fortunes with a home win against Luton Town., Although forward Sam Gallagher has scored twice in five matches, the Rovers’ forward players have failed to impress so far this season. They need to find their scoring feet if they are to push for the up the table over the coming weeks. Hayden Carter will miss the game through suspension.
Their shots chart is an indicator of their weak performance in the recent fixtures, ranking in the bottom just above Swansea. Their attacking actions metrics are equally poor viewing.
Luton Town’s new season has been a mixed bag. So far, they have two wins in five matches. Recently they were smashed 5-0 at home against Birmingham and managed just a draw against Sheffield United at home. Blackburn away should will be a big test for Luton. Forward Harry Cornick could be the man to watch out for. Manager Nathan Jones could have a full squad to select from.
Similar to their opponents they rank near the bottom in the shots chart, although their attacking actions metric puts them among the top 10 sides.
This should be a close match; any advantage or lead will be narrow. Blackburn’s home advantage just might come in handy.
