Stoke City played Hull City at the bet365 Stadium on Matchday 9 of the 2021/22 EFL Championship season Saturday.

The Potters came out with a 2-0 victory in a well-contested game with a first-half goal from Mario Vrancic followed by a second-half goal from Nick Powell to seal the game. The victory now sees Stoke City fifth in the Championship table, level on points with fourth-placed Fulham, two points behind second and third and just four points behind leaders Bournemouth. The Tigers, on the other hand, are lurking in the relegation zones in 23rd, with just five points from their nine games. They are second last only thanks to the 12 point reduction faced by Derby County which has them on -2 points at the moment.
