Queens Park Rangers are currently sixth in the EFL Championship standings with 26 points from their 17 games. They are only two points behind fifth-placed Stoke City and six behind third-placed West Brom. QPR have proven to be a great attacking side and have been regularly getting the goals in matches. They have scored the third-most goals in the league and are only behind leaders Bournemouth and second-placed Fulham. Out of their 28 goals scored, the front three of Lyndon Dykes, Chris Willock, and Ilias Chair have had a huge impact. Dykes has scored six goals and assisted two, while Chair has also scored six and given two assists. In this post, we will be looking at the stats and attacking dashboards of their two top scorers Lyndon Dykes and Ilias Chair.
The above viz shows the attacking and creativity dashboard for QPR striker Lyndon Dykes. He has had a pretty good season this time around and has already scored six and assisted two goals for the club. The black line in the above viz shows the average for the particular stat for all the strikers in the Premier League. It shows that in some of the stats above, Dykes has been much better than the average Premier League player with his goals, assists, touches, etc. He has not been great in terms of duels or dribbles, but he is not in the team for doing that. He is a proper number nine and has been doing his job very well.
Dykes’ shot map above shows that he has been a huge presence in the penalty area. Almost all of his shots have come from inside the box, with only a few from outside. He has scored five goals from inside the box but has managed to score one from long range as well. He has been a terrific striker for QPR this season.
The above viz shows Ilias Chair’s attacking and creativity dashboard for this season. Even he has scored six goals and given two assists for his team in the league and has been equally important to his striker, Dykes. He is an attacking midfielder who can play on the wings as well. So far this season, the 24-year-old has been one of the best players for his team and in the Championship.
Chair’s shot map shows that he takes very few shots from inside the penalty area. Almost all of his shots have come from outside the box. He likes to drift to the left side of the attack and has got goals from various angles.
Both Lyndon Dykes and Ilias Chair are very important for QPR in their quest for a top-six finish this season to qualify for the promotion playoffs.
