Blackburn Rovers are set to face Ipswich Town at Ewood Park this weekend in the Championship, looking to build on their victory over Watford in their last fixture.
Valerien Ismael knows that it will not be an easy fixture for Blackburn Rovers, as Ipswich Town have the better record when the two clubs face each other.
Kieran McKenna has won both of his two previous games against the Lancashire outfit and will be looking to make it three this weekend when the Tractor Boys travel to Ewood Park.
Blackburn will be desperate to get their first victory at home this season to build upon their win over Watford and to ensure they do not suffer an unwanted record they last achieved 29 years ago.

Blackburn Rovers looking to avoid three opening home defeats for the first time in 29 years
Valerien Ismael’s side are yet to win at home in the Championship this season, having suffered defeat to both Birmingham City and Norwich City earlier in the campaign.
While Blackburn will be looking to give their fans something to cheer about with a home victory, they will also be looking to avoid repeating a poor start to the season at home with a third straight defeat at Ewood Park, like they did in the 1996-97 campaign.

Blackburn have only lost their opening three home games on two other occasions in the history of the club, in the 1956-57 and 1996-97 seasons.
While this poor start to the season had no dire consequences on the club in either season, with the club maintaining their status in the division easily on both occasions, this may be disheartening news to hear for those that wish to see Blackburn make a return to the Premier League.

Blackburn Rovers have a poor home record against Ipswich Town recently
Ipswich Town have found great joy when playing Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in recent seasons.
The Lancashire club have won only one of their last seven games at home against the Tractor Boys, with this victory coming under Tony Mowbray in January 2019, when Blackburn emerged 2-0 winners.
In those last seven league games, Ipswich have won four of them, with Ipswich completing the league double over Blackburn in the 2023/24 season, the last time the clubs were in the same division.
