Ipswich Town drew against Derby County, a game that saw Kieran McKenna’s side leave it late.
A lengthy period of stoppage time was added with Ipswich Town trailing, and McKenna’s side were awarded with a penalty, which was converted by Jack Clarke in the 16th minute of stoppage time.
Following the disappointing performance, Ipswich Town are still winless in the Championship so far, having drawn three of four games, and many are starting to ask questions of a number of the players.

Ipswich Town fans question George Hirst following Derby County draw
There were very few individuals in the Ipswich Town squad who covered themselves in glory at Portman Road this Saturday afternoon, as many will feel as though they were far from their best.
One man who Ipswich Town fans thought had a particularly poor performance against the Rams was George Hirst, who has not netted a goal since his converted penalty in the draw against Birmingham City in the season opener.
For the first time in the 2025/26 Championship campaign, Kieran McKenna hooked the striker, which Town fans will deem to be deserved after a limited performance.
Taking to social media, one Ipswich Town fan said: “I’ve always been a big advocate for Hirst but in these last few games he’s been really off the pace.
“Ivan Azon showed more in 15 minutes than what Hirst has done this season.
“Disappointing George, it’s got to improve soon.”
Supporters then came together in agreement, as one suggested that he ‘needs dropping’ and that ‘the number 9 shirt has really got in his mind’.
Another fan said: “Agree. His touch, decision-making, dribbling, and link-up play were all poor. I thought he was decent against Southampton, though.”

George Hirst stats vs Derby County
It was a passive display by George Hirst in the draw against Derby County, which saw him receive very little service, whilst he struggled to make anything happen when he did have the ball.
Via SofaScore, Hirst managed just one shot in the entire contest, and only tallied six completed passes from an attempted 13. He also missed one big chance, while losing possession 10 times.
The decision made by Kieran McKenna to sub him off after 60 minutes felt like a statement by the Ipswich Town boss, who would have expected more from the striker.
As one fan said, Ivon Azon could be in line for a start next time out as McKenna potentially opts to swap out Hirst, who is undergoing a tricky spell at the minute.
