Southampton came from behind to secure a point away to Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon, as two of the relegated Premier League clubs cancelled each other out at Portman Road.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis will still be furious after he turned into the back of his own net inside the first four minutes, handing the Tractor Boys the lead in Suffolk.
Andy Hinchcliffe was very critical of the Saints’ defending following the goal, but just before the half hour mark, Will Still’s side found themselves level as they started to come into the game with more possession and more chances.
It was 18-year-old Jay Robinson who equalised for Southampton, and supporters were delighted to see the teenager on the scoresheet after making his debut just last season in the Premier League.

Southampton fans react to Jay Robinson’s first senior goal
The attacking midfielder, who can also play out on the wing, has taken on some of the responsibilities that have been vacated by Tyler Dibling so far this season.

While there is plenty of pressure on him, he didn’t show any signs of that having an impact on him against Ipswich. He was the best player for Southampton on Sunday and fans took to social media to celebrate his first senior goal.
Another Saints supporter wrote: “Get in!”
While a third put: “Well deserved.”
Southampton have a history of bringing through quality players, and one fan was keen to point this out: “Our academy is so back.”
As a sixth said: “He’s decent him [Robinson].”

Jay Robinson reflects on his first professional goal
At just 18, the future looks very bright for Robinson and he is going to be a hugely important player for Still and Southampton in the months and years to come.
However, he also knows that he must remain level-headed. His performance against Ipswich was extremely positive, and he caused the Tractor Boys issues on a number of occasions, with Alex Palmer denying him a second goal after the break.

If Dibling does leave for Everton, then Robinson will be called upon even more and he knows that he has to keep showing to his manager why he deserves to be starting in that attacking midfield role.
He said to Sky Sports after the final whistle: “It was a really good feeling, I’m happy to get a point out of the game and it’s good to get my first goal.
When asked if he’s enjoying how much he has played so far this season, Robinson said: “I’m really happy, I just try and enjoy playing football and winning as many games as possible.”
