Blackburn Rovers’ play-off push seemingly took a dent when manager John Eustace left the Lancashire club to join relegation-threatened Derby County on Thursday, but it’s now Adam Forshaw who is dominating the headlines.
Eustace’s shocking departure has led to Blackburn supporters once again questioning the Venky’s ownership of the club, as the 45-year-old was willing to swap a club who are striving for a place in next season’s Premier League for a side that could be facing an unwanted return to League One.
The former Blackburn boss’ first game in charge of Derby County did not go to plan either, as the Rams were hammered 4-0 by QPR on Friday night, thanks to an Ilias Chair brace and strikes from Koki Saito as well as Ronnie Edwards.
Meanwhile, under the stewardship of caretaker boss David Lowe, Rovers have now won two Championship games on the spin, with 2-0 victories arriving against West Brom and Plymouth Argyle respectively.
The latter victory had headlines stolen by Adam Forshaw, who bagged against his former side and celebrated in spectacular fashion.

Blackburn Rovers star Adam Forshaw opens up on celebration controversy
Blackburn defeated in-form Plymouth 2-0 on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of goals from midfielder Forshaw and star man Tyrhys Dolan.
Forshaw left Plymouth for Blackburn during the January transfer window, and Saturday afternoon marked his first encounter with his former club.
His excellent shot, which found the top corner, put Rovers in front in the second half, but it was his celebration which became a talking point as he appeared to goad the Plymouth bench just weeks after leaving the Devon club.
However, Forshaw explained via his Instagram story that his intentions were not to wind up the Argyle players and staff. He wrote: “No bad intentions, and sorry for how it came across.
“This is where the family were sat behind the benches.”

Plymouth boss backs Forshaw’s celebration
Plymouth Argyle boss Miron Muslic insisted after the game that he has “nothing but respect” for Forshaw’s celebration in his post-match interview.
“I respect that and if I had scored that beautiful goal, I would go to my family celebrating. He is a top professional and there is nothing but respect. He told me this and for me, the story was done in a millisecond. We hugged each other and moved on.
“I have nothing but respect for Forshaw because he explained that behind us was his family, his sons,” Muslic clarified.
The last time Rovers enjoyed more than two consecutive victories came earlier this season, when they won six on the spin across November and December.
While Blackburn are still on the hunt for a new permanent manager following Eustace’s exit, next Saturday presents a major opportunity to earn their third back-to-back win.
Following their two victories over West Brom and Plymouth, the Lancashire outfit can head to Swansea City next weekend full of confidence.
Furthermore, Swansea are currently struggling, having managed just one win in their last nine Championship encounters.
