Burnley have confirmed their return to the Premier League and attention is beginning to turn toward the summer transfer window.
Scott Parker sealed his third promotion last week after Burnley beat Sheffield United to secure a top-two finish.
Burnley set a ‘ridiculous’ defensive record during the 2024/25 Championship campaign.
Going into their final day clash, they have shipped just 15 goals in 45 matches – nearly two times less than the second best in the division, Leeds United.

This phenomenal record is in no small part down to the heroics of shot-stopper James Trafford.

Burnley’s James Trafford comments on transfer interest
Trafford’s record-breaking form has been remarkable and had owner JJ Watt panicking over a promise he had made to the goalkeeper.
The 22-year-old has started all but one league fixture this term, missing the 5-0 win over Cardiff City in August.
He has earned an England call-up as well, though he has not featured for the Three Lions at senior level just yet.
Trafford’s form has also seen him garner transfer interest, and he was recently asked about this, as per the Burnley Express.
He said: “I’ve got an incredibly good circle around me. It’s very small but it’s incredibly good.
“When the season ends I’ll go on holiday and relax from football and then I’ll start getting ready for the national team in the summer.
“I don’t go on my phone too much. I’m not naive enough to say I don’t see any of the noise around me but it doesn’t bother me. Whatever happens will happen. I’ve done all I can this season.”

Who wants to sign James Trafford
Burnley signed Trafford from Manchester City in the summer of 2023 for somewhere around the £14m mark.
Still on only 22, he clearly has bags of potential, which has brought with it links to the Premier League.
The Shields Gazette has described Trafford as Newcastle United’s top target for the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, it was suggested by talkSPORT in February that Burnley will demand £30m for their star keeper.
