The next round of Championship fixtures get underway on Friday night, and experts have weighed in with a Norwich City vs Oxford United score prediction.
The seasons for both teams have been in stark contrast to one another. While Norwich started slowly and have now exploded into form, Oxford had a decent start to life in the Championship but are slipping fast.
Last weekend in the Championship, Norwich dropped points against fellow play-off hopefuls Blackburn Rovers, with an injury-time equaliser from Andreas Weimann spoiling the party for Johannes Hoff Thorup.
Meanwhile, Oxford fell to defeat against Frank Lampard’s in-form Coventry team, ending up on the wrong side of a 3-2 scoreline despite a brave fight.

Norwich City will surely beat Oxford United at Carrow Road
So, who will triumph in the first of the weekend’s Championship fixtures? The hosts of the Championship Check-In podcast have been discussing the Norwich City vs Oxford United game, and they say there’s only one team that can win this game.
Sam Parkin said: “I quite like the look of that game to kickstart the weekend on Friday night, that should be good. I can’t back Oxford at the moment, five defeats in seven.
“Norwich, hearts broken by the late leveller at Blackburn last time out. I think I will just side with form here and Norwich to win relatively comfortably – 2-0 to Norwich.”

Benjamin Bloom added: “I was going down the home win route, too, Norwich have too much power. And Oxford have stopped scoring lately, although they did get two against Coventry at the weekend so maybe that’s back. I’ll take the 2-1, I’ll give Norwich the win but Oxford the goal.”
That would be a fourth defeat on the bounce for Gary Rowett’s side, and with the U’s currently only seven points clear of the relegation zone, they’ll surely be looking over their shoulders at the teams below them in the Championship table and starting to sweat.

Norwich City’s play-off chances examined
Meanwhile, Norwich City are currently four points off the play-offs going into the weekend’s fixtures, and there’s every chance that Thorup’s men can break into the top six by the end of the season.
The only problem for Norwich, really, is a lack of consistency. In the last five games, the Canaries have drawn three, won one, and lost one — not exactly promotion-winning form.

Looking ahead, Norwich have games coming up against struggling teams like Plymouth Argyle, Cardiff City, and Portsmouth. They simply have to make the most of those opportunities to give themselves a shot at the top six.
The problem is, Norwich also have to face the likes of Burnley and Sunderland, as well as play-off rivals West Brom, Bristol City, and Middlesbrough. Those are the games that will truly test the mettle of the Canaries.
Sadly, we don’t think they’ve quite got what it takes this season, but watch this space for next term.
