Sheffield United have two huge Championship meetings this week as the race for automatic promotion heats up.
Despite beginning the 2024/25 campaign with a two-point deduction, Sheffield United are firmly in contention to secure a top-two finish and promotion back to the Premier League.
Chris Wilder has completely transformed the Blades since his return, and with ten games of the season left to play, they sit second in the division.
However, after defeating Preston North End at the weekend, they remain in the midst of an incredibly tight battle with Leeds United and Burnely, with just two points separating the trio at the top of the Championship going into the latest round of fixtures.

The final international break of the season is nearly upon us, but before that, Sheffield United have two tricky tests to navigate this week.

The Robins are on a great run of form, however, and have moved up to seventh in the division ahead of the meeting.
After facing off with a play-off-chasing Bristol City, the Yorkshire outfit then play out the final Steel City Derby of the campaign versus Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, March 16th.
Prior to their games this week, an injury update on Wilder’s side has been provided via The Star.
Tom Davies is definitely going to miss both fixtures, while the Blades are sweating on the fitness of two key players going into the weekend.
Harry Clarke and Alfie Gilchrist are both ruled out of Tuesday evening’s Championship fixture, but there is a chance the duo could return to take on Danny Rohl’s side this coming weekend.

Sheffield United injury list ahead of Bristol City
Ahead of the meeting with Bristol City, Wilder was asked about resting some key players before the debry later in the week.
He said: “I’m not sure about rested. We’ve got a couple of injuries to assess over the next 24/48 hours but I should imagine every club up and down the country, especially in the Championship, will have the same issues.
“We’ll pick a team that will hopefully go and get a positive result.”
Given their injury issues at present, however, there are not too many changes Sheffield United can afford to make if they want to get a positive result in midweek.
| Player | Injury |
| Tom Davies | Muscle injury |
| Rhys Norrington-Davies | Groin |
| Vinicius Souza | Hamstring |
| Gustavo Hamer | Muscle injury |
| Harry Clarke | Foot |
| Alfie Gilchrist | Ankle |
| Sai Sachdev | Broken leg |
Sheffield United are especially light at the back, meaning we could see midfielder Hamza Choudhury given another runout at right-back.
