The Ryan Mason era got off to a decent start after West Bromwich Albion began their season with a win.
Isaac Price’s goal was the difference on the day at the Hawthorns as West Brom beat Blackburn Rovers.
A number of new signings have bedded in well to life in the West Midlands, with Mason feeling at home himself too ahead of challenging for a play-off spot.
But, despite one signing standing out more than others, there was no room for him in the Championship’s team of the week.

Nat Phillips snubbed from Championship team of the week
Nat Phillips has already become a fan favourite at West Brom after an eye-catching performance in the win against Blackburn.
Only Aune Heggebo featured but the Albion fans felt that Phillips should’ve been there in the heart of defence.
@ashtonwba added: “Nat Phillips… Robbery.”
@L33475 stated: “Haha Nat Phillips plays tennis then.”
@pete_harman9 commented: ” @NatPhillips47 did you not play or something?”
Nat Phillips stats vs Blackburn Rovers
It’s early days but the signs are showing that Phillips could be one of the signings of the season.
The former Liverpool defender started and played the full 90, dominating in the back four.
He put in a superb defensive display, making a whopping 14 clearances while also winning a number of ground duels.
| Nat Phillips stats vs Blackburn | |
| Minutes played | 90 |
| Clearances | 14 |
| Tackles | 2 |
| Dribbled past | 0 |
| Ground duels won | 5/8 |

One game doesn’t define if a player will go on to be a success or not, but if Phillips keeps it up, then he will be a force to be reckoned with.
