Leeds United will know that they may be knocked off the top of the Championship when they welcome Millwall to Elland Road for the second time in 2025.
The Lions won the reverse fixture in November, but also beat Daniel Farke’s side in the FA Cup last month as well, while the Whites enter this fixture on the back of another surprising result at the weekend which shook up the promotion picture.

After the Whites were beaten 1-0 at Fratton Park against Portsmouth on Sunday — with Colby Bishop’s solitary strike bringing an end to their 17-game unbeaten league run in the Championship — they have seen their lead cut at the top.
That followed a 1-1 draw with West Brom at Elland Road, meaning those two failures to win left the Whites just two points above third-placed Burnley and only above second-placed Sheffield United on goal difference.
Now, Leeds go into tonight’s game trailing the Blades by a point after Bristol City held Chris Wilder’s side at Bramall Lane last night.

Daniel Farke’s Millwall verdict ahead of Elland Road clash
Despite the disappointment for Leeds at fortress Fratton Park, the hosts are also incredible themselves at home. The Whites are unbeaten in 15 home Championship matches, including winning 13 and scoring a monumental 40 goals across those games.
Leeds will look to bounce back after a shock defeat with a win over Millwall on Wednesday evening knowing they have the chance to reclaim top spot.
Prior to the game, Farke talked up the importance to get back on track in his press conference. He said: “I’m not too concerned about this quick turnaround because we have at least three proper nights in between.
“The advantage of the early kick off is you have a few more hours to recover and sleep was not disturbed, so, yes, we will be 100% ready for the game.
“Obviously they [Millwall] have one more day to recover. That’s always a little disadvantage but we’re not searching for excuses and we all want to be ready to go again.
“We want to get this winning feeling back into the dressing room.”
Daniel Farke and Leeds have made Elland Road a fortress
Millwall have a unique opportunity on Wednesday night as they bid to beat Leeds at Elland Road for the second time this season, and in doing so make it a hat-trick of victories for the the club. That will be easier said than done, though.
Farke’s Leeds side are forced to dust themselves off this week off the back of their first defeat in the Championship since November, but West Yorkshire has proven to be their sanctuary and the most consistent aspect of Farke’s often inevitable side this season.

Elland Road will play host to five further games in the league, while just ten games remain in the Championship season. After the latest defeat, the task becomes very clear for Leeds and Farke as the title destiny remains in their own hands and wins at home should not prove difficult to come by.
They may need to rely on their rock-solid home form and the imperious central defensive pairing of Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk more often before the season ends, with the Whites very much at the business end of the campaign but also very much in control of their own fate.
