Derby County’s summer is finally underway.
While they are yet to bring in a new signing, Craig Forsyth has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract, taking his stay with the club into his 14th and then 15th season with the Championship side.
Carlton Morris is awaiting a medical with the Rams after a deal was agreed with Luton Town for the striker, as Andreas Weimann and Danny Batth close in on moves to Pride Park following the expiration of their Blackburn Rovers contracts.
Nevertheless, Monday was all about Forsyth and supporters took to social media to pay tribute to the incredibly loyal defender.

Derby County fans react to Craig Forsyth’s new deal
After first joining Derby on loan from Watford in 2013, the 36-year-old made the switch permanent that summer and he has been a mainstay in the starting XI for much of that time.

He made 39 league appearances last season, his most in the Championship since 2014/15 and it has perhaps come as no surprise to supporters to see the former Scotland international handed this new deal.
A second Rams fan put: “Being called Craig must increase your chances of becoming a Derby County legend at birth.”
While another wrote: “Great news and well deserved. Never going to manage every game but not going to let us down when called upon.”
A fifth Derby supporter said: “Fantastic! In my opinion, last season was one of his best.”
And a sixth wrote: “Well deserved, know what you get and he’s consistent.”
Craig Forsyth is about to write a new chapter in his Rams history
Last season was one of Forsyth’s very best in black-and-white, doing what many did not expect him to be able to do at the age of 36 by becoming a key part of the team once again.
Nigel Clough predicted big things for the defender in July 2013, and he has been proven right over the course of the last 12 years. However, even he will struggle to believe just how successful the signing of the full-back would prove to be.
Forsyth will start working on his coaching badges over the course of the next two seasons, and transitioning into this new role is perhaps the best way for ‘Fozzy’ to bring to an end an incredibly loyal career at Derby.
