Leicester City are on the hunt for a new manager, with Ruud Van Nistelrooy finally facing the sack after weeks of uncertainty.
The timing of the sacking was slammed by Henry Winter but the Foxes are chasing Danny Rohl from Sheffield Wednesday.
Rohl is expected to leave the Owls in the near future, and his release clause has reportedly been lowered after it was an issue regarding an early departure.
However, there is another option for Leicester. Lee Carsley is one to watch in terms of the vacancy at the King Power Stadium, and he has shed some light on his future following his triumph in the European Championship with England U21 on Saturday evening.
Lee Carsley sheds light on his future after being linked with Leicester City vacancy
Ex-Norwich City forward Jonathan Rowe scored the winner for the Young Lions in Slovakia, with Germany coming back from 2-0 down to send the game to extra-time.

It’s the second time that Carsley has won the tournament as the head coach of England U21, having done so in 2023, and he spoke following the final whistle about his future amid the Leicester links.
He told Channel 4: “I’m not sure [on his future], I mean I’m going to try and enjoy tonight, I think it’s important that I love my job, I’m very proud of the job that I do, I love working with the players.
“Obviously I’ve had a chance with the senior team and I loved that. The best thing I can do is help the pathway and try and help the senior team.”
Enticing Lee Carsley away from the England setup could be tough
After taking interim charge of England’s senior team at the end of 2024, Carsley’s pedigree in the game has risen significantly.
His success with the U21s has been clear to see, and the FA may be reluctant to let him go as he is working extremely hard to get the younger players prepared for life in senior international football – with great results.
Leicester need a manager who is open to a long-term project, and with King Power facing huge financial issues, they will want someone who can help provide a distraction to that chaos off the pitch. But that may not be Carsley.
