Leeds United fans are in complete agreement about Brenden Aaronson after QPR stalemate – one thing is clear

Leeds United were looking to extend their lead at the top of the Championship when they travelled to QPR on Saturday.

The Whites secured a huge win over Millwall during their midweek league fixtures, while rivals Sheffield United and Burnley both dropped points.

It was by no means a prolific showing from Leeds United on Wednesday evening, but it did open up a two-point gap at the summit.

Next up for Daniel Farke’s men was a Saturday lunchtime kick-off in West London against Queens Park Rangers.

Leeds were predicted to beat QPR, but the Yorkshire outfit had a tough afternoon up against a low block on a smaller pitch.

The Peacocks went 1-0 down after 17 minutes thanks to a Koki Saito strike, which was the Rs’ first shot on target of the match.

Their second attempt of the tie came in the 30th minute from Steve Cook, who put the home outfit 2-0 up, leaving Leeds with a mountain to climb.

Leeds United fans make same Brenden Aaronson point vs QPR

Junior Firpo pulled a goal back for the away outfit shortly before the break despite shouts of offside from the QPR players.

Then, just six minutes into the second half, Jayden Bogle put Leeds back on level terms.

The fightback from the promotion-chasers was impressive, but one man, Brenden Aaronson, did not cover himself in glory during the tie.

He was hooked at the break and Leeds fans have taken to social media to express their frustration at the midfielder, claiming his replacement on the day, Wilfried Gnonto, was so much better.

One wrote: “Gnonto does more in five minutes than Aaronson has in the last few weeks. His ball to James was brilliant, a super save from Solomon’s shot but Bogle is there to equalise!”

A second echoed: “Gnonto has done more in five mins than Aaronson has done in 2025. Instant impact!”

“Gnonto making more of a contribution in five minutes than Aaronson has in the last 13 games,” another also stated.

A fourth Leeds fan claimed: “Brilliant ball through from Gnonto!!! Aaronson cannot see or make that ball!”

Another wrote: “So we finally play Gnonto at 10 over Aaronson and a few minutes in he plays a lovely through ball creating our equaliser, it’s not rocket science is it, play your best players!”

And a sixth added: “Gnonto with the pre-assist. Done more as a 10 in 2025 than Aaronson.”

While another stated: “The Aaronson sub is about 2 weeks too late.”

Brenden Aaronson stats for Leeds United vs QPR

Aaronson was a big-money addition from RB Salzburg in 2022 and has had a mixed stint at Elland Road since.

Eight goals and two assists in the league this term is not a terrible record but his form in recent weeks has not been great.

Leeds are next in action versus Swansea City on March 29th, and based on Saturday’s match, it seems clear that Aaronson should be dropped for Wilfried Gnonto.
