Leicester City are now fully focused on preparing for the new season after their Premier League nightmare came to an end.
The Foxes finished the season 18th in what was officially their worst season ever. Now, with Jamie Vardy no longer a Leicester player and the threat of a points deduction at the King Power Stadium looming, decisions will have to be made.
It seems that Russell Martin will replace Ruud van Nistelrooy imminently and a number of players will also depart.
Another item on the agenda is replacing Vardy as club captain and for Foxes fans, only one candidate stands out after his latest comments.

Ricardo Pereira calls for ‘honest reflection’ from Leicester City players
Ricardo Pereira has had a season to forget, like everyone else, but for different reasons.
Frozen out by Steve Cooper to then being sidelined for months due to injury, Van Nistelrooy also didn’t seem to take a liking to him – despite being one of the few players who looked capable of being up to the task.
Pereira is a fan favourite at the King Power Stadium. He knows what the fans truly feel like and called upon the players to “reconnect” with supporters.

Writing on Instagram, he said: “There’s something that kept coming to my mind over these last weeks and months: Maybe it’s time to reconnect with what made this club successful — and with what people talked about when I first arrived.
“Being fearless. Staying humble. Showing resilience. And most of all, sticking together — players, staff, and fans as one.
“Now it’s time to rest, but also to reflect. Honest reflection is needed — from all of us. Even in bad moments, there’s always something to learn. And those lessons will make us improve and be better.”
Leicester City fans want Ricardo Pereira to become their next captain
Pereira’s statement is one that genuinely comes from the heart and Leicester fans around the world believe he is the perfect player to captain the Foxes in the Championship next season.
@Foxes.bible said: “Spoken like a true leader. Always honest, always give 100% and always put the fans and club first. Club captain is calling you.”
@ellis.volpe agreed, adding: “Captain next season, one of the few leaders in this team.”
@raithathaamar wrote: “Class stuff, you’re literally the only player now that’s worthy of wearing the Leicester shirt, hope you can stay to be our captain.”
shay3hunna also said: “Captain Ricky.”
@sarah__29 commented: “Words of a new club captain.”
