Mathias Kvistgaarden scored his first goal for Norwich City in their 1-1 draw against Coventry City.
Kvistgaarden started and scored in the West Midlands as Haji Wright scored in the 96th minute to earn a share of the spoils.
The forward has had to be patient as Norwich kept star man Josh Sargent following interest from Premier League clubs, but was given his first league start.
Sadly, the Danish forward’s afternoon went from ecstasy to agony after having to withdraw at the break due to injury, and Liam Manning is now sweating over his fitness for the next run of games.
Mathias Kvistgaarden injury update revealed
Speaking after the game, the Norwich boss admitted that it would be a bitter blow to lose their summer arrival, as well as defender Ben Chrisene, who also limped off.
Manning said: “Mathias landed funny and felt his knee, so we’ll see how that is. That is as far as I know at the minute, in terms of what that looks like.
“He’s definitely someone for the short to medium term who is going to be really important for this club.”
No timeline has been set for the 23-year-old’s return, but there are hopes he won’t miss much, or any, of the season.
Mathias Kvisgaarden is already the perfect Josh Sargent replacement
Norwich discovered a secret clause in Kvistgaarden’s contract that allowed the Canaries to swoop him from under the noses of Celtic and others.

His arrival would’ve been in the knowledge that their star man is wanted by a number of sides and could be poached at any moment.
The former Brondby man arrived late in pre-season, so is still getting used to being around his new teammates, as well as continuing his work to be ready to step in should Sargent depart.
