Luton Town are one game away from pulling off a miraculous survival mission as they head into the final day of the Championship season.
The Hatters travel to the Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion, who have nothing to play for after missing out on the Championship play-off places.
Matt Bloomfield’s side have been in an incredible run of form of late, losing only two of their last fixtures.
With one game of the season left to go, three points will guarantee their place in the second tier and avoid back-to-back relegations.
Their opponents are all too familiar with the surroundings Luton find themselves in and they could replicate the exact same thing the Baggies did 20 years ago.

West Brom pulled off the great escape 20 years ago
Bottom of the Premier League table on Christmas Day in 2004, West Brom looked dead and buried.
Miraculously though, Albion were able to find form and go on an incredible run at the turn of the new year.
In the end, they were able to pull off the unthinkable and became the first team in top flight history to be bottom during the festive period and then survive on the final day.
Luton are familiar to this too, surviving on the final day of the 2019/2020 campaign before going on to rise up the table and reach the Premier League in 2023 after beating Coventry City in the play-off final.
Luton Town on the verge of ‘greatest escape yet’
Nobody had tipped Luton for promotion back to the top flight, but no one could foresee them embroiled in a relegation battle.
Even in their one and only season in England’s top division, a squad was assembled that could be competitive enough to compete in the Championship.
That hasn’t happened for one reason or another and with one game left to go, BBC Three Counties Radio commentator Simon Oxley thinks that this would trump the achievement from 2020.
He said: “Matt Bloomfield had put together a decent run of results and supporters are already questioning why there wasn’t more recruitment last summer and whether the club kept faith with [Rob] Edwards for too long.
“Luton stayed in the Championship on the last day in 2020. To do so again would be a greater escape.”
