Excitement is beginning to build for Championship fans as the fixtures for next season were released last week, while clubs are also releasing their new kits, and Oxford United are no different.

Oxford United managed to defy expectations last season as they survived their first season back in the second tier of English football.

Gary Rowett’s side will be hoping for a similar outcome by the end of the 2025/26 Championship season, perhaps with less flirting with the relegation zone.

Their fans will be incredibly hopeful they can maintain their Championship status, and they are starting to see the club prepare for the campaign, as they sold Ruben Rodrigues to Vitória.

While Oxford and their fans will not truly know how the campaign will go at this point, they will know exactly how they look, as they have just released their new home kit for next season.

Excitement and concern always build around the release of a club’s new kit for the season, as fans hope their team will wear something iconic as they potentially make history with the club.

Oxford released a video online this morning to their social media channels for fans to get a first look at their home kit for the 2025/26 season, dubbing it a ‘modern classic’, and fans have seemed to all react positively to the new design.

One fan said: “Love it, best home shirt for years; well done on picking a fantastic design.”

While another agreed with this sentiment, as they said: “That is a beauty!”

There was a shared joke among fans regarding the new kit, as a number of fans said: “Shut up, and take my money!”

One fan simply said: “Ordered.”

Fans seem unanimous in their thoughts about the new home kit, with the only other thing of note being the demand for new signings into the club.

One fan said: “A thing of beauty Now let’s get some signings announced, shall we?”

Their festive fixtures will have pleased fans, as they are hosting two of the three fixtures; however, the level of opposition may not have been what they would have wished for, as they play Southampton, Swansea City and Ipswich Town.

Meanwhile, they will end their campaign with an away trip to London, as they are set to face Millwall, with fans hoping they will have secured their Championship safety by then.

Oxford have also found out who they have been drawn with in the first round of the Carabao Cup, as the U’s will host Colchester United.
