Paul Heckingbottom left ‘really angry’ after revealing why Dan Jebbison will have to wait for Preston debut

Paul Heckingbottom was left incensed after revealing the reason why Dan Jebbison was unable to make his Preston North End debut.

Preston denied Julian Stephen a winning start as QPR boss as the two teams played out a 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.

Jebbison, a summer arrival on loan from AFC Bournemouth, was absent from the squad and the reason behind it was one out of the club’s hands that has left Heckingbottom unhappy.

The reason why Dan Jebbison missed Preston’s 1-1 draw vs QPR

Jebbison was expected to be one of the focal points in the Preston attack but will be out for a month after injuring himself during a private fitness session.

While his manager understands that this is the norm these days, losing players to injury through external matters doesn’t sit well with him.

“I’m really angry about that,” he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

“These guys work with these players and they post their work all over social media and they want to promote their business.

They’re happy to take the money but they don’t give us any money back when they injure the players in their sessions.

“They’ll not be posting on social media that Jebbo’s out for a month, so I’ll tell everyone that when they work with players they can put them out as well.”

Preston face tricky run of fixtures without Dan Jebbison

A draw isn’t the worst start in the world for the Lilywhites but there will be an element of fear about who they go on to face next.

Two of their next five games are against sides relegated from the Premier League last season in Leicester City and Ipswich Town.

Portsmouth and Middlesbrough also await before Derby County will round off the month they are expected to be without Jebbison.

The 21-year-old’s Championship experience at such a young age would’ve been beneficial and without him, it’s fair to say this run of games is rather daunting.
