Richard Kone is on fire for Queens Park Rangers, and one stat sums up just how clinical he has been.

Kone signed from League One Wycombe Wanderers this summer for a reported initial fee of £2.75million, with QPR beating Leicester City and Swansea City to his signature. So far he seems to have been worth every penny.

The striker has already bagged three goals for his new club, with the latest coming against Wrexham on Saturday.

Now, Kone’s incredible finishing and composure in front of goal has been summed up by a key statistic.

Richard Kone only needed three shots on target to score three goals

Kone has scored three goals in four appearances for QPR so far, and he’s only needed three shots on target to do so.

He made his debut against Watford, coming on for 20 minutes at the end of the R’s 2-1 defeat.

The 22-year-old clicked into gear against Coventry City, again coming on as a substitute but managing a consolation goal in his side’s 7-1 defeat. In his first start, he scored in the 3-1 victory over Charlton Athletic.

Then on Saturday, he got on the scoresheet for the third game in the row, bagging a goal against Wrexham, a side he netted against for Wycombe last term.

Richard Kone records 13-year first last achieved by Djibril Cisse

Kone is the first QPR player to score three or more goals in his first four games for the club since Djibril Cisse in 2012.

Cisse had signed from Lazio, joining under former R’s manager Mark Hughes, and netted three against Aston Villa, Bolton and Liverpool in his first four games – with two red card suspensions in between.

QPR fans have been crying out for a striker like Kone for a while now, and his start to life in blue and white will fill them with confidence that he can be the bagsman they’ve needed.

He will no doubt want to extend his tally if he scores against Stoke City next week.
