This summer has been difficult for Sheffield United, with their Championship play-off final defeat to Sunderland sparking an exodus of key players.
Anel Ahmedhodzic has joined Feyenoord, while Vini Souza made the switch to Wolfsburg for just under £13m.
It has left Ruben Selles lacking in a number of key positions, with the defensive situation at Bramall Lane less than ideal, with the Blades currently bottom of the table in the second tier – below bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
Nevertheless, with less than two weeks to go in the transfer window, there has been great debate around Gustavo Hamer’s future at Sheffield United, and it now looks to have been settled.

Gustavo Hamer set to remain a Sheffield United player for now
EFL Analysis explained on Saturday that there was growing confidence that Hamer would stick with the Blades going forward, and despite their wretched start to the campaign, he is committed to the club.

According to The Star, the 28-year-old is not looking to leave Sheffield United this summer before deadline day.
Of course a move away still cannot be ruled out, as the Blades will have an asking fee that is too good to turn down. However, the player himself is seemingly happy in S2.
There has been long-term interest from Leeds United, but PSV Eindhoven have also been keen on the midfielder and there is still a lingering fear that an approach from the Netherlands would be enough for him to move on.

The Blades must not accept any offers for Gustavo Hamer
With the transfer window coming to an end, this is a poignant moment for Sheffield United and they can ill-afford to lose any more key players – especially with their struggles on the pitch already.
Hamer is a special talent, his halfway-line goal against Birmingham City proved exactly that, and it is vital that he remains a Blade going forward.

Finding a replacement for him would also be incredibly tough at this stage and Selles needs to keep the ex-Coventry City star around to help get the club back on the up.
While Hamer is not actively seeking out a move, there will of course be fears that a late move for the midfielder could make him question his future at Sheffield United.
