Sheffield Wednesday lost at home to Sheffield United in the latest Steel City Derby.
The Championship season is truly heating up, and every point feels like a lifeline for those chasing promotion.
One of these teams is Sheffield United, who, having won at Hillsborough, now sit second on joint points with Leeds, who sit ahead due to goal difference.
A goalless first half left both sides hungry to break the deadlock.
Unfortunately, for Wednesday, the Blades seized the moment, edging ahead with 64 minutes gone.

Despite many good performers in the Steel City derby, it was Rhian Brewster who was the match-winner when he unleashed a right-footed shot from close range giving United the lead, much to the joy of their fans.
In the lead-up to that pivotal goal, Barry Bannan’s misstep relinquished possession, igniting fury among the loyal Wednesday faithful on X, not just at this – but his overall performance.
Sheffield Wednesday fans react to Barry Bannan’s performance
It was the Blades’ first shot on target of the game, and they found the back of the net, igniting frustration among the Wednesday fans who couldn’t conceal their irritation with one player in particular, captain Bannan.

One wrote: ‘Bannan and Windass are supposed to be key players, ok then. Got stilettos on. Bottles jobs!’
Another added, annoyed at their skipper: ‘That has got to be one of the worst performances I have ever seen from Bannan.’
‘Bannan poor today, and once again players ball watching instead of picking up their man,’ one fan said following the goal.
‘Barry Bannan with a stinker of the century there, honking,’ another adds.
One final fan sums it up: Bannan with another woeful performance in a big game… and another derby defeat to his name. Waste of a shirt for a big occasion again.’
Bannan seriously poor vs Sheffield United
Wednesday fans are all saying the same thing, and that is that their club captain has once again gone missing in a big game.
Despite being one of that Championship’s star players, it’s evident that Bannan does have a tendency to ghost in the more notable clashes. This is reflected in his stats on the day.
