Two Stoke City loanees ran the show in their respective Vertu Motors Trophy performances on Tuesday night.
The Potters had an incredible start to their Championship season, winning three league games in a row. That streak came to an end in a 1-0 loss against West Brom last Saturday, with new Baggies defender Nat Phillips’s goal being the difference.
Stoke had a busy transfer window, bringing in £7.4million worth of players including Sorba Thomas, True Grant and Tomas Rigo. Aaron Cresswell, Lamine Cisse and Maksym Taloverov all joined on frees.
After spending money on their squad in the market, Mark Robins and co. will be pleased to see two youngsters already on their books smashing it out on loan who could be fantastic options when they eventually return.

Nathan Lowe and Emre Tezgel score for Stockport County and Crewe Alexandra
19-year-old Nathan Lowe joined League One Stockport County on loan for the season at the end of July.
He’s made one start in six league appearances for Dave Challinor’s side, bagging one assist in the 2-2 draw against Leyton Orient. Two further games in the League Cup saw him score his first Hatters goal, netting in the 3-1 win over Crewe Alexandra.
Now, he’s got himself on the scoresheet again – twice. He played the first half of his side’s Vertu Motors Trophy clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Under-21s, scoring both his goals within four minutes of each other. County went on to win 5-4.
Fellow former Stoke youth player Emre Tezgel, meanwhile, scored a hattrick against Chesterfield for Crewe.
His side ran out 7-1 winners, and the Potters loanee got the scoring going, netting in the fourth, sixth and twenty first minute.
It took the pair just 99 minutes collectively to score five goals between them.
Tezgel has also scored in the League Cup, ironically bagging a consolation goal against Lowe’s side.
Nathan Lowe will want to emulate Walsall form at Stockport County
Last season, Lowe was recalled early from his loan with League Two Walsall.
He helped the Saddlers go top of the second tier by netting a whopping 18 goals in 30 appearances. He was named League Two player of the month for December.

However, after returning to Stoke, he bagged one goal, scoring in the 1-1 draw against West Brom in his first Championship game back.
This time round, Lowe will want to demonstrate he can be a future option up top for the Potters. His performance on Tuesday suggests he’s on his way to doing that.
