Birmingham City are back competing in the Championship ahead of a very successful 2024/25.

The Blues dominated League One, leaving their closest rivals, Wrexham, well behind as they clinched the title with 111 points.

Birmingham now have ambitions to reach the Premier League but must first navigate the second tier.

The Championship is one of the toughest leagues in world football and is littered with players that have Premier League experience and teams that have plenty of money to spend.

Now, Birmingham investor Tom Brady has been sharing the club’s goals for the upcoming season.

Tom Brady names Birmingham City goals

Brady made a promise to Birmingham fans when they were relegated to League One at the end of 2023/24.

That promise is coming true already, but reaching the Premier League would be the icing on the cake.

Now, speaking to Men In Blazers, Brady was asked to name the Blues’ goals for 2025/26.

He said: “I think the goal is to build on what we did last season, even knowing that last season was what it was.

“But I think we set a new standard and expectation for how we should perform, so the competition is tougher, we are in the Championship. The games are harder, the players are better, and we need to step up in every area. It’s going to be a challenge.

“I think we’re building our conditioning for our competitive stamina, but again, the processes for what we accomplished last year will be very much the same.”

Tom Brady message to Birmingham City signings

Birmingham have so far added 10 new players to their squad in the summer transfer window.

Kyogo Furuhashi is their most expensive arrival, while the likes of Tommy Doyle are bringing top-flight experience to St Andrews.

And in the same interview, Brady had a clear message for the club’s latest recruits.

He continued: “You’re right, we brought in some new players, that’s always very important.

“At the same time, those players have to get up to speed very quickly with how Chris wants to play the games and these matches, and that’s what the pre-season is all about.”
