Burnley returned to the Championship top spot after their win against Norwich City, spawning a hilarious peak behind the curtain into Scott Parker’s side.

Burnley beat Norwich 2-1 on Friday evening to ensure their return to the Championship’s summit ahead of Saturday’s fixture list.

Scott Parker’s side began the night in second, but thanks to goals from duo Jaidon Anthony and Hannibal Mejbri, the Clarets reclaimed their spot at the peak to maintain a three-point advantage over second-place Leeds United.

Hannibal dispatched a lofted ball well to net his first in Clarets colours before Anthony’s deflected effort double their lead with only 25 minutes played.

Canaries substitute Jack Stacey’s late goal proved nothing more than a consolation as Parker’s side saw out the imperative victory.

It was that goalscoring duo’s high-spirits interview, after the game, that offered insight as to why Burnley are heading into the business end in their best season form.

Hannibal and Jaidon Anthony’s hilarious Burnley admission after 2-1 win vs Norwich

Pundits predicted Burnley would bounce back from their goalless draw at Derby, and they did in emphatic style against the Canaries.

Both creative outlets found the net in the first 45′ and blew Norwich out of the water early doors to set Parker’s side on course to return to the summit.

Buoyed by their stellar display, Hannibal and Anthony’s hilarious interview with Sky Sports offered a peak behind the Claret’s curtain as to why they’re peaking at the perfect time.

When asked about returning to top spot, Hannibal said: “Are we first right now? Yeah, very happy to be at this position and now we need to keep going and enjoy it, keep the vibes up.

“Off camera, he’s (Anthony) crazy. Too much vibes. Him, Marcus (Edwards), Josh Laurent, everyone. Too much vibes. There’s too much vibes in the changing room. It’s so good to be in this changing room, what do you think?”

To which Anthony responded: “100 percent, obviously we just want to have a good time and it’s always nice when you’re winning.”

Anthony concluded: “The manager always says, don’t be on the rollercoaster so we won’t focus too much. We’ve done our job this weekend and we’ll be ready for the next one.”
