West Bromwich Albion’s play-off hopes were ended after they lost to Derby County.
In a game that had a huge say at both ends of the table it was Derby who emerged victorious after taking a two-goal lead in the first half at the Hawthorns.
Adam Armstrong cut the deficit in half but it wasn’t enough as Tony Mowbray’s men then conceded a late goal on the counter .
They now face an uphill task with only two games of the season remaining and boos could be heard around the Hawthorns.
With Coventry City and Bristol City also losing, as well as Sheffield Wednesday’s late winner against Middlesbrough, it was a huge missed opportunity to put extra pressure on the top six and supporters aren’t happy as they are condemned to another season of Championship football.
