Valerien Ismael has hit out at referee Anthony Blackhouse for his alleged actions during a tough day at the office for Blackburn Rovers.
Charlton Athletic hammered Blackburn 3-0 at the Valley as Rovers failed to get going.
It was a sad end to a stressful week after the EFL said Blackburn will need to replay their game against Ipswich Town in full.
That wasn’t on Ismael’s mind at that point, but he was left fuming by one incident involving the referee and his captain Todd Cantwell.

Blackburn’s Cantwell thought that his side deserved a penalty when he claimed that his cross into the box struck the arm of Charlton skipper Lloyd Jones.
Blackhouse waved away the protests but in his post-match interview, Ismael claimed that the referee winked and laughed at his captain once he had made his mind up.
“I think it’s terrible the referee didn’t see that [handball by Jones], because it can be a game-changer,” he told BBC Radio Lancashire
“What’s embarrassing is that our captain is allowed to speak to the referee and he has winked at him and laughed at him. This is unacceptable. He made a mistake, but at least treat our player properly and not laugh at our players.”

Having a game in hand may seem like an advantage on paper, but for Blackburn, it could create more problems than necessary.
Rovers don’t know when they will play their rescheduled fixture against Ipswich, but by that point, they could already be chasing others.

The Lancashire club are 20th in the table, one point clear of third from bottom Oxford United. If they were to lose the replay, in which they were leading 1-0 before it was abandoned, it could result in them really looking over their shoulder rather than breathing a sigh of relief.
