Blackburn Rovers have got off to the worst start possible, losing their two opening fixtures of the season.
Valerien Ismael’s side have not been able to get going at the start of the campaign, first losing to a Nat Phillips-inspired West Brom 1-0 at the Hawthorns.
Before returning to Ewood Park for the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, only to lose 2-1 to League One side Bradford City.
While the defeat was damaging for the confidence of the team, Lewis Travis dealt a major blow to Rovers, as he has requested to leave the club to move to Derby County.
While Blackburn have rejected the offer and Ismael remains adamant that the club captain will only leave if their valuation for him is met, the atmosphere around the club cannot be harmonious at present.
The departure may force Rovers back into the transfer market to fill a position they believed they had sorted, with Blackburn looking to strengthen in other areas at present.
Ismael confirms Blackburn are still strengthening
Blackburn Rovers appear to be looking for a right winger or versatile attacker to join their ranks, following their failed attempts to acquire Koji Miyoshi due to registration issues.
The club appear to want to make one further signing ahead of the closure of the transfer window, and Ismael all but confirmed that in a cryptic answer to the Lancashire Telegraph after their defeat to Bradford City.

He said: “We are thinking about someone, but it’s difficult to say if it’s close.
“As I say, we will do one position; it’s still open, and we want to do something. After that, if someone goes out, we want to replace, so it will be the same if they go.”

Options Blackburn Rovers could sign
The pool from which Blackburn Rovers can sign another attacker has been limited by their ESC slot situation, as they have no more available.
This would see Blackburn being forced into either signing homegrown players or those that qualify for a GBE slot.
While there are several options that fit this criterion should they need to replace Lewis Travis, to this point Blackburn have seemingly ignored similar options for the attacker position.
Currently training with the PFA free agents who would fit the position they need to fill are Rolando Aarons and Fabio Borini.
Both are players who are versatile attackers desperate to continue in professional football, as seen by their desire to continue training with the PFA. The only question is whether Borini would qualify for eligibility; however, he should be okay due to his youth career at Chelsea.
