Danny Rohl is now set to leave Sheffield Wednesday, with the German’s conduct over the last few months costing him.
Amid the ongoing financial problems at the club, Danny Rohl decided to take an extended break over the summer.
He did not return for the start of pre-season, but after making his comeback this week, it was reported that Sheffield Wednesday players were unhappy with Rohl.
Owls fans were not happy with the manager either, with some speculating they would ‘be surprised if he’s in the dugout for the first game of the season’.
Now, on Thursday, EFL Analysis exclusively revealed that Rohl will leave Sheffield Wednesday, and talks over an exit are underway.

Danny Rohl mistake at Sheffield Wednesday
It’s our understanding that the German’s position has become ‘untenable’ amid the playing squad not being happy.
This was clearly down to his actions over the summer when he decided not to return to training with the rest of the team.
Players forcing moves by not turning up to training is somewhat common, but it’s not something often seen from a manager trying to force a move.
However, Rohl’s plan has seriously backfired on him as he’s going to be let go by Wednesday, but none of the clubs that were interested in him are potential destinations anymore.
Below is a list of every team the Sheffield Wednesday man has been linked with in recent months, all of whom have since gone on to appoint new managers this summer.
- Middlesbrough (Rob Edwards)
- Southampton (Will Still)
- Rangers (Russell Martin)
- Leicester City (Marti Cifuentes)
- RB Leipzig (Ole Werner)
- Wolfsburg (Paul Simonis)
It means the 36-year-old, at least right now, has no clear way back into management once his Wednesday exit is finalised.
Furthermore, some clubs could well decide Rohl isn’t the right type of character for them, given his actions with the Owls this summer.
Who will replace Danny Rohl as Sheffield Wednesday manager
Sheffield Wednesday’s financial problems are ongoing, so they obviously don’t have spare money to be throwing at new managers.
EFL Analysis has been told that Henrik Pedersen is expected to take charge of first-team affairs.
Pedersen signed a new contract last week and has been in charge of training while Rohl has been away.
