Leicester City return to the King Power Stadium on Friday evening to face Birmingham City on matchday four of the Championship.
It’s been a steady yet unremarkable start for the Foxes since suffering relegation from the Premier League, and they are yet to find their feet in the second tier.
Bringing in a striker who can score goals as consistently as Jamie Vardy is going to be near impossible, after the legend of the East Midlands club departed at the end of last season, but they may now have their target in their line of sight.
Nevertheless, they still need one other component in any potential deal to occur for this move to happen, and Leicester are relying on Millwall at this moment in time.

Leicester City must sign Mihailo Ivanovic after Millwall update
The Lions themselves are in the market for a new striker, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that forward Jusef Erabi has the opportunity to join either the London club or Belgian outfit Genk.

€5m offers are on the table for Swedish side Hammarby IF, who finished second in the Allsvenskan in 2024, and it could be said that Millwall are preparing for offers for Mihailo Ivanovic in the last few days of the transfer window.
Leicester themselves, who are in dire need of a new star striker, should pounce on this opportunity and bring the 20-year-old to the East Midlands this summer.
He scored 12 goals in 37 Championship games for Millwall in 2024/25, with Pete O’Rourke reporting earlier in August that Ivanovic is a target for the Foxes.

Alex Neil will be keen to avoid selling Mihailo Ivanovic
The Lions are not willing to lose their star striker without bringing in a significant fee for him, but at such a young age, Leicester must surely decide that this is the right investment.
Bringing in a striker who has scored double digits in the Championship at Ivanovic’s age is nearly unheard of, and the Foxes must make him their final marquee signing of the summer.

Yet, for Alex Neil, this would be a disaster. The Serbian is a crucial part of his team, and he holds a huge amount of respect for him. Back in April, the Millwall manager said (via: The National): “Any 20-year-old that leads the line in the Championship and can get nearly [10 goals], and he’ll get double figures before the end of the season.
“If you do that, that’s an unbelievable season and it won’t be surprising me if people start talking about him. I’ve already seen something the other day talking about the top 10 young talents in Europe – he’s one of them.
“He’s 20 years of age, there are very few strikers at that age that will lead the line at this level and also score goals, so he deserves all the plaudits he gets.”
