Luka Modric and Swansea City is still a sentence that sounds utterly bizarre when you hear it.
The Real Madrid legend became a minority owner at Swansea earlier this season and is hoping to play a part in guiding the south Wales club back to the Premier League.
It’s been an up-and-down start for Alan Sheehan’s men so far after winning two, drawing one and losing one.

Modric’s investment led some Swans fans to think that they would be landing some high-profile targets and while there haven’t been any galacticos who have come through the door just yet, Swansea may be able to offer one struggling star a chance to rebuild his career.

Dele Alli linked with Swansea City transfer
Dele Alli has struggled for form ever since his Tottenham Hotspur days.
After bursting onto the scene at MK Dons, Alli moved to Spurs before becoming one of England’s best footballing talents. However, a loss of form has seen him lose his way and fail to reach the same heights again.
Alli recently terminated his contract at Como and is looking for a new club and according to Ben Jacobs, Swansea are considering an approach for the 29-year-old.
A return to English football may be a daunting prospect but with the allure of working at a club partly owned by Modric may be seen as too good to turn down.
Dele Alli can revive career at Swansea City
Returning to the Championship means that more eyes will be on the midfielder but at the same time, he may thrive off that.
Playing for Swansea in the second tier where it relies on you pulling up your socks and getting stuck in may be exactly what he needs.

Every side he has been at since his Tottenham days have been under the spotlight for different reasons and while Swansea have links to Modric, won’t be under intense media pressure.
It would require patience and time to allow him to get back up to speed, but it could be worth the gamble.
