Clubs in the Championship make crazy decisions all the time, but QPR selling Charlie Kelman this summer would be one of the worst decisions any club makes ahead of the new season.
Last season, QPR went from relegation fodder to midtable mediocrity, all thanks to some fine work from Marti Cifuentes to steer them clear of trouble.
In the end QPR finished 15th, but since then, there has been some turbulence at the club. Most notably, Cifuentes was placed on gardening leave and is now manager of Leicester City.
Julien Stephan has stepped in now, and has managed to keep the QPR squad together, but there are now reports suggesting they will sell their most exciting striker.

Charlie Kelman linked with Luton Town and MLS move
As per Darren Witcoop on Twitter/X, it is thought Luton Town have sent an offer to QPR for Kelman, while two clubs in the MLS have also made an approach. West Brom were thought to be keen but have cooled that interest now.
The American striker may well be tempted by a return to his homeland, but one would assume that he is chomping at the bit to prove what he can do in the Championship.
Kelman scored 23 goals last season on loan at Leyton Orient in League One, and was by far one of the best players in the division. Not only did he score bucketloads, he offered incredible variety in his finishing and linked up well with those around him.
Put simply, he is and was too good for League One. A move to Luton would be a mistake for Kelman, while playing in the US would hardly put him on the map; especially if he has any aspirations of playing at the World Cup next summer.
Kelman is a hidden gem waiting to explode in the Championship, and the fact QPR are even considering letting him go is ludicrous, frankly.

Charlie Kelman is the missing piece of the puzzle for QPR
QPR are tipped for an exciting season in 2025/26, with some even suggesting they could be dark horses for promotion if things go their way.
Stephan is a talented manager, and the fact that captain Jimmy Dunne signed a new deal speaks volumes for the club and where it could be heading.
QPR have added Kwame Poku to the mix, which brings a great deal of creativity to the side, something they lacked last season.
As for goals, only ten teams scored less than QPR’s 53 last season. If they had a bit more firepower, they may well have ended up in the top half of the table, and they certainly have a chance to this year.
But, having Kelman is key to that. His goals could make all the difference, so if QPR are planning to sell, it’s to be hoped they have a suitable replacement ready and waiting.
