Sheffield United picked up all three points against Stoke City in the Friday night game against Mark Robins’ men.
Sheffield United’s season fell apart at the seams in recent weeks, with defeats to Oxford United, Millwall, and Plymouth Argyle leaving them five points adrift. Those hopes have now ended and they must now pick themselves up against another side embroiled in a Championship relegation battle.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 44 | 27 | 13 | 4 | 89 | 29 | 60 | 94 | |
| 2 | 44 | 26 | 16 | 2 | 61 | 15 | 46 | 94 | |
| 3 | 44 | 27 | 7 | 10 | 60 | 35 | 25 | 86 | |
| 4 | 44 | 21 | 13 | 10 | 58 | 41 | 17 | 76 |
An unwanted record awaits Sheffield United if they aren’t careful in the final two fixtures. The next two games were always likely to be crucial in dictating their play-off campaign due to the need for momentum.
They will be fearing the worst again given their dismal play-off record. If they are unable to navigate that, then they will be a part of the 2025/26 Championship. With two experts even backing Sheffield United to lose.

The player ratings for Sheffield United after 2-0 win over Stoke City
A loss would have made it five defeats in six in a game where Wilder will have already been frustrated prior to kick-off. Instead, Chris Wilder’s men will have to power through the Championship play-offs, but he has been surprisingly humble about missing out to Burnley and Leeds for promotion so far.
Here, we take a look at the player ratings for the Blades in the 2-0 win away to Stoke.
Michael Cooper — 7
As safe and secure as ever, the Sheffield United brick wall was impenetrable. He wasn’t made to work for it but did what was required from the odd shot that came his way.
Femi Seriki — 7
Femi Seriki’s energy is never in question, although he was caught up field a number of times as the main right-hand width, allowing Bae Jun-ho some nervy transitional moments.
Rob Holding — 7
His lack of pace can be a slight issue, but Rob Holding looks sharper by the game, which is timely for the play-offs. His ability in the air was vital in big moments here.
Jack Robinson — 6
Not as comfortable as some of his defensive teammates but came through things well enough. Jack Robinson was pulled around a little too easily but he could rely on his teammates to do their jobs.
Sam McCallum — 8
The opening goalscorer is perhaps unfortunate that Harrison Burrows exists as part of this side, having shown what he is capable of in flashes — including with the brave header.
Hamza Choudhury — 7
Hamza Choudhury is quietly very impressive at the moment, irrespective of where Wilder is deploying him. The Leicester City loanee is a strong midfield enforcer.
Vini Souza — 7
His sheer presence alone was enough to raise the standards of those around him, including Choudhury. His display was strong and aggressive when it needed to be to snuff out attacks at source.
Callum O’Hare — 8
The best attacking threat in the first half, due to the fact it wasn’t abundantly clear where he was supposed to be playing throughout. Callum O’Hare dragged defenders with him everywhere.
Rhian Brewster — 8
Unable to make the impact he is capable of in terms of goals and assists but was excellent in general play in terms of creating chances and keeping the ball moving, as well as his role out of possession.
Kieffer Moore — 5
Wasteful with a number of shots which could and perhaps should have ended in an extra pass instead. The Welshman cut a frustrated figure in attack and one lacking in confidence and in need of a goal.
Tyrese Campbell — 5
The dive didn’t go down well with the fans he used to call his own, but he was a positive threat in terms of his channel runs in the first half. Unfortunately, he wasn’t rewarded for his endeavour.
Subs: Harrison Burrows — 6, Sydie Peck — 7, Tom Cannon — 5, Andre Brooks — 7, Anel Ahmedhodzic — N/A.

Callum O’Hare’s goal and assist record doesn’t do his Sheffield United career justice
O’Hare’s dribbling and carrying ability is absolutely vital to getting the Blades up the pitch and to retain the ball in attacking areas. His role in this team is performed extremely well.
| Appearances | Starts | Goals | Assists |
| 43 | 38 | 2 | 6 |
He may not always get the goals and assists to show for it, but his role on and off the ball is so important. He was the connective player for Sheffield United at the bet365.
Ahead of the play-offs, Wilder will be looking for individuals to step up and make their mark, including the attacking midfielder. It was a confidence-booster for him and the Blades to perform so well and with such personality again.
