Premier League free agents Birmingham City could sign
Tom Cairney
Tom Cairney has an incredible amount of experience competing in the second tier of English football.
He has won the Championship title previously and has played a staggering 318 games in the competition, scoring 45 and assisting 51.
Now 34, he is out of contract with Fulham next month, as per Transfermarkt, and would bring a wealth of experience and leadership to Birmingham.
Whether he wants to part with his long-time club or extend for another year remains to be seen, but as of now, he’s yet to sign a new deal.
Jonny Evans
Jonny Evans is set to leave Manchester United at the end of his contract next month.
The centre-back has rumoured interest from Birmingham’s fellow League One promotion winners, Wrexham.
But there is nothing concrete on that front right now, and he could be a great option for the Blues.
He is a multi-time Premier League winner, and though he may now be 37, Evans could still do a good job in the Championship on a short-term deal.
Ben Davies
Ben Davies is a versatile option who could add quality depth to Chris Davies’ side in a number of areas.
He is a natural left-back, but has experience playing in the centre of defence as well.
Davies is a Wales international and would be a real statement signing for Birmingham if they can convince him to drop down a division.
It’s perhaps the most unlikely move on the list, but Birmingham have shown in the last 12 months that they are very ambitious and willing to spend big to get what they want.
