Leicester City fans have been hoping for any sign of life in the transfer window.

Asmir Begovic is the Foxes’ only signing through the door so far as Marti Cifuentes looks to cut down his squad.

Conor Coady, Wilfred Ndidi and Mads Hermansen have all left and Bilal El Khannouss is set to join Crystal Palace.

Where there is time there is hope though and Leicester could still land some targets to bolster their Championship promotion hopes.

With that, here are three players EFL Analysis thinks the Foxes should sign before transfer deadline day.

Fode Ballo-Toure – free agent

Money is tight at the King Power Stadium and Leicester need to be shrewd operators in the market. Fode Ballo-Toure is available as a free agent after leaving Le Havre but has had a wealth of experience at the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan.

With Victor Kristiansen expected to move on, that leaves Luke Thomas as the only current option. Ballo-Toure is 28, so still has life in the tank and his previous ventures at top flight clubs in major European leagues will always come in handy.

Joao Rego – Benfica

The latest link to Leicester this summer is Joao Rego, who has shone in Benfica’s youth ranks.

Rego has been compared to Joao Felix and the 20-year-old is being mooted as a possible replacement for El Khannouss when his Crystal Palace transfer is complete.

Given his pedigree, there’s every chance that this move would have to be a loan with an option to buy but Rego would be an exciting prospect to come to the East Midlands.

Yousef Salech – Cardiff City

Scoring goals in a relegated side always leaves people wondering what they would do in a side challenging at the top of the table.

Yousef Salech only joined Cardiff City in January 2025 but was an instant hit, scoring nine times in 22 games across all competitions.

Salech is also a Danish striker, a nation where Leicester have had several success stories over the years, most notably a Mr Kasper Schmeichel.
