Chile started the match best and took the lead when Ben Brereton scored a goal after 10 minutes, with an assist by Eduardo Vargas, making it 0-1.
With two games remaining, in the qualifiers Chile are at the top of the table and Bolivia are in fifth.
Chile play Uruguay away on Monday. Bolivia will face Uruguay at home on Thursday.
