Portsmouth have signed Tottenham Hotspur youngster Min-hyeok Yang on a season-long loan deal.
Portsmouth survived relegation back down to League One last season after finishing 16th in the 2024/25 Championship campaign.
John Mousinho has added several fresh faces to his squad this summer, namely with the free signing of former West Brom midfielder John Swift and the arrival of Mark Kosznovsky from MTK Budapest.
Alongside Blackburn Rovers, Portsmouth were boosted in their pursuit of Nectarios Triantis after it emerged that Hibs had dropped out of the race for the Sunderland loanee.
One Premier League loanee who has been confirmed to join is Tottenham starlet Min-hyeok Yang, and Mousinho has shared his excitement at the youngster’s potential for the season ahead.

Portsmouth boss John Mousinho shares exciting Yang Min-hyeok verdict
Tottenham have let several young stars leave on loan for the season ahead, with two already making Championship moves.
Jamie Donley joined Stoke City after his breakout campaign on loan at Leyton Orient last term, and Will Lankshear has joined Oxford United.
Baggies boss Ryan Mason was poised to profit from Spurs’ transfer plan, but unfortunately for him, Mikey Moore joined Rangers at the expense of West Brom.
It emerged this week that Portsmouth were looking to sign Min-hyeok on loan from Spurs after his impressive stint at QPR in the second part of last season, and now the move has been confirmed.
Reacting to the deal, Mousinho told Portsmouth’s website: “Yang was an extremely highly rated player when he first came over to join Spurs in January.
“He then went straight out on loan to QPR and enjoyed a really strong impact with them in the Championship.
“I remember having the privilege of watching him live in a Friday night game against Derby when he performed so well in a 4-0 victory before coming down to Fratton Park a week later.
“It’s been a whirlwind few months for Yang since he arrived in England and we’re excited to have him at Pompey.
“We believe he’s a real prospect and know that Tottenham think highly of him, so this is the next part of his development.
“He’s direct and exciting in the way that he plays and can really help us achieve what we’re looking for this season.”
Portsmouth could be seen as relegation candidates by some Championship supporters, but the arrival of Min-hyeok could pave the way for a host of further high-calibre signings to bolster the squad.

John Mousinho must build on Yang Min-hyeok loan signing at Portsmouth
19-year-old Min-hyeok arrives at Pompey after an impressive debut stint in the EFL on loan at QPR last season.
The youngster showed plenty of promise and is now poised to continue his rapid improvement with a full season under Mousinho.
| Statistic | Yang Min-hyeok for QPR on loan in 24/25 |
| Games played (starts) | 8 (14) |
| Goals | 2 |
| Assists | 1 |
| Shots on target | 7 |
| Pass accuracy | 81% |
Portsmouth cannot afford to let the signing of last season, Josh Murphy, leave this window after he scored seven goals and registered 14 assists in 2024/25.
But if Pompey can retain Murphy and add more star quality similar to Min-hyeok, Mousinho should be able to target another stable finish without fears of relegation.
