Leicester City have thrown a transfer spanner in the works at Millwall with an “enquiry” for one of Alex Neil’s prized assets.
Leicester City have endured a testing start to the season, coming back from behind against Sheffield Wednesday on the opening weekend to win 2-1 before losing 2-1 at Preston North End last time out.
Similarly, Millwall won their first game of the Championship season with a 2-1 win over Norwich City, but were then beaten 3-0 by Middlesbrough on Saturday.
This weekend, Leicester travel to Charlton Athletic, as Millwall head to Sheffield United.
Before those clashes take place, the Foxes have “made an enquiry” for one of Neil’s most crucial Millwall stars.

Leicester City ‘make an enquiry’ for Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic
After scoring 12 Championship goals in 37 appearances during his debut campaign in English football last season, Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic is a hot commodity in the summer window.
Following reports that Wolves had been monitoring the 20-year-old, EFL Analysis exclusively revealed earlier this summer that Wolves would have to “double the money” to sign Ivanovic from Millwall.
Amid the Premier League interest in the prolific forward, Neil warned that Ivanovic will be staying at Millwall beyond this summer window in an attempt to fend off interest in the Serbian and fellow in-demand teammate Japhet Tanganga.
Sheffield United are targeting Tanganga, and now Neil could be braced for a double transfer blow after reports emerged that Leicester are eyeing Ivanovic.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke posted on X: “Leicester have made an enquiry to Millwall for striker Mihailo Ivanović as the Foxes look to bolster their attacking options.”
In the Lions’ opening two Championship clashes, Ivanovic has played the full 90 minutes in both games but has failed to find the net.
As mentioned, Neil is desperate to retain Ivanovic beyond the September 1 transfer deadline day, considering that the Lions boss believes the Serbian international is ‘one of the best young talents in Europe’.

Alex Neil believes Mihailo Ivanovic is one of best youngsters in Europe
Towards the end of last season, after Ivanovic scored another late Lions winner with his second goal in a 2-1 win against Portsmouth, Neil lauded the striker with lofty praise.
As quoted by the St Albans review, Neil said: “Any 20-year-old that leads the line in the Championship and can get nearly [10 goals], and he’ll get double figures before the end of the season.
“If you do that, that’s an unbelievable season and it won’t be surprising me if people start talking about him.
“I’ve already seen something the other day talking about the top 10 young talents in Europe – he’s one of them.
“He’s 20 years of age, there are very few strikers at that age that will lead the line at this level and also score goals, so he deserves all the plaudits he gets.”
Ivanovic finished the 2024/25 season with 13 goals for Millwall in all competitions during his first campaign in English football after his move from Vojvodina, in his native Serbia.
The youngster was imperative to Millwall’s push for the play-offs last season, and he will be equally crucial to their prospects this term, if Neil’s side can fend off the growing interest in his goalscoring services.
