The race to sign Oli McBurnie appears to have heated up, with Hull City being joined by a fellow Championship side to attain his signature.
With the 2024/25 Championship regular season reaching its conclusion, many clubs are already sounding out moves for both managers and players.
One player who has attracted interest is former Sheffield United star Oli McBurnie, who is set to leave Spanish side Las Palmas, with whom he endured a difficult campaign, getting relegated from La Liga.
McBurnie has been linked with a move to Hull City, a move that has legs after the Scottish international confirmed that he was set to return to England due to there being a term in his contract that allows him to leave following relegation.
The former Sheffield United striker would be an impeccable signing for several sides at Championship level, and it is no surprise to see the Tigers joined by another team who is willing to sign the 28-year-old.

Hull City set to face competition from Swansea City in the race to sign Oli McBurnie
With McBurnie set for a return to English football, Swansea City have now shown their interest in signing the Scotsman, per a report from BBC Wales.
Swansea City will battle Hull City for the signature of McBurnie, who endured a fairly positive season on a personal level, despite relegation from La Liga, having notably notched an assist at home against Real Madrid in a draw with three goals on top of that.
McBurnie has attracted interest from several clubs at Championship level in the past, with some sounding out the opportunity of signing him back in January. Now that he is a free agent, that has sparked another flurry of interest from sides, with Hull City and Swansea the first to emerge.

Swansea could have a clear in battle to sign Oli McBurnie
Based on last season, both Hull City and Swansea City would significantly benefit from the signing of McBurnie, a proven Championship-level forward with plenty of years left in his career.
However, Swansea could have an edge in proceedings because of his close ties with the club. McBurnie previously played for the Swans, racking up an impressive 22 goals in 42 in the Championship before a £20million move to Sheffield United.
Knowing that he thrived during his stint in South Wales, it would be no surprise to see McBurnie opt for a return to his old stomping ground, leaving Hull City back to square one in their pursuit of a striker.
