Birmingham City supporters were far from happy with the performance by Kyogo Furuhashi following the crushing away defeat to Leicester City.
The Blues have suffered their first defeat of the 2025/26 Championship season after a difficult performance on the road.
Leicester City saw off Birmingham City, and whilst it was an assured performance by the Foxes, who were able to punish Chris Davies’ side on the counterattack, there was much to ponder for the Blues following the contest.
It is now two defeats in all competitions for Birmingham City after they fell to a shock loss at home to Port Vale in the EFL Cup in midweek, and now Davies has lost his unbeaten record in the Championship after four games.
Few Birmingham City players were able to cover themselves in glory, but one in particular found himself in particular difficulty, as was noticed by a group of Blues fans.

What Birmingham City fans said about Kyogo Furuhashi following Leicester City defeat
After Birmingham City’s defeat on their travels to Leicester City, some supporters singled out the struggles of Kyogo Furuhashi up front for Chris Davies’ side.
Via X, one Birmingham City fan said: “Kyogo must have ticked the box for the ‘Scott Hogan Experience’ on his contract, all the runs and limited service.”
Blues fans continued, suggesting that ‘he doesn’t get involved enough’ and that Davies’ style of play makes Kyogo ‘redundant’ in the final third.
One Birmingham City supporter then said that ‘Kyogo needs a big striker upfront with him’ due to the fact that ‘he’s totally lost on his own’. It is still early in the Japanese international’s Blues career, but fans have already begun saying that he ‘needs to do more’.

Kyogo Furuhashi stats vs Leicester City
Alongside the comments by Birmingham City fans, the stats produced by Kyogo Furuhashi do not make for pleasant viewing either.
Via SofaScore, Kyogo managed just 11 touches on the ball, which led to one shot in the entire contest.
He also failed to complete a single pass throughout the game, further emphasising the lack of an impact he had on the game.
Kyogo managed to win a free kick in a dangerous area in the latter stages of the game, but that was one of, if not his only worthy contribution on what was a challenging evening for Birmingham City and their £10m attacker.
