Birmingham City fans in agreement about Chris Davies after Coventry City as Frank Lampard point made

Birmingham City fans are in uproar after defeat against Coventry City in the Championship on Saturday.

Last season, Birmingham City won the League One title with ease, finishing 19 points ahead of Wrexham in 2nd.

And upon promotion, Birmingham City spent around £12million on new players. But so far it’s been quite a mixed season for Chris Davies‘ side.

Blues started well with wins at Blackburn Rovers and Oxford United, but they’ve now lost three of their last four in the Championship.

Coventry City thump Birmingham City 3-0

Blues fans may have expected a much closer scoreline than 3-0 on Saturday. But Coventry were deserved winners and Birmingham City deserved losers on the day.

Brandon Thomas-Asante scored the opener for Coventry before Jack Robinson saw red just before the break. Just after the break, a Bright Osayi-Samuel own goal made it 2-0 to the Sky Blues.

To rub salt in the wounds, Victor Torp added a third Coventry City goal in the 78th minute.

Davies guided the club to promotion last season, and to a steady start to this season with Birmingham City still sitting in 10th place of the Championship table.

Despite that, many Blues fans have a lot of criticism for Davies after that game against Coventry City. “Said it for ages Davies isn’t the one to progress us. No plan B,” said one supporter.

“Another game without a shot on goal. Get anti football Davies out,” said this Birmingham City fan, as another similar comment read: “If I’m being honest. If we lose the home record to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday, I’m going to be Davies out.”

One fan even said Coventry boss Frank Lampard completely out-thought Davies on Saturday afternoon, posting: “Lampard out managed Davies for me unfortunately. Targeted the lack of pace at the back with over the top balls and every single one has caused us issues.”

Another angry Birmingham City fan wrote: “Clueless in all areas. Open play, set pieces, creativity, just embarrassing right now.”
