Birmingham City have absolutely wipped the floor with League One this season, setting a League One record in the process.
After a heartbreaking relegation to League One for the first time since the competition was rebranded, Birmingham City have wasted little time pushing for a swift return to the Championship.
An EFL Trophy final meeting with Peterborough United awaits the Blues next month, while the league title is already all but wrapped up.
Birmingham return to action on Saturday afternoon, taking on a struggling Shrewsbury Town who have just lost their manager.
Ahead of the game, Chris Davies’ side already have a nine-point lead over second-place Wrexham as well as two games in hand on their closest rivals.
Birmingham still have 10 games of 2024/25 to play out, but they have already set an impressive League One record, again.

Birmingham City have set League One record after 36 games
Birmingham broke a Plymouth Arygle record earlier this month for most points notched at that stage of the campaign.
Now, the Midlands outfit have done something no other side in the history of League One has ever managed.
With 36 games played, Davies’ men have notched 83 points from their 36 league games this season.
That is the most by a side since the third tier of English football was rebranded to League One back in 2004.
In fact, you have to go all the way back to the 1946/47 season to find a team that bettered Birmingham.
In Division 3 North, Doncaster Rovers had 92 points and Rotherham United had 83 points at this stage when converting wins to equal three points.

How many points Birmingham City need to break League One record
The records continue to fall at St Andrew’s, and another is most definitely in sight before the season is out.
When they won League One in 2013/14, Wolverhampton Wanderers set the record for most points secured in one campaign (103).
With 10 games still left to play this term, Birmingham can currently earn a total of 113 points – beating Wolves by 10.
However, they need just 20 to match the now Premier League outfit and 21 to beat them, meaning they only have to win seven of their remaining fixtures.
