Forget Bilal El Khannouss, one Leicester City star was the inspiration behind comeback win vs Sheffield Wednesday

Leicester City left it late to spare their blushes and earn a win on Marti Cifuentes’ first game in charge of the Foxes.

The start to the game was rightfully overshadowed by Sheffield Wednesday’s ongoing protest against Dejphon Chansiri as the majority of the 3,000 travelling fans didn’t take to the stands until the fifth minute.

Nathaniel Chalobah gave the visitors the lead in a shock turn of events but a revitalised Leicester came back out for the second half and equalised through Jannik Vestergaard before Wout Faes’ header late in the game earned them the three points.

Bilal El Khannouss was one of those who starred for the Foxes, but it was another who changed the game entirely.

Harry Winks was crucial in Leicester’s comeback win

Cifuentes opted to name Harry Winks on the bench who, according to The Telegraph, is admired by Valencia, Fiorentina and Brentford.

With the Foxes behind at the break, Cifuentes made the brave move to take Oliver Skipp off and bring Winks on.

His impact was instant as he brought balance and composure to the middle of the park next to Boubakary Soumare.

The level and speed of passing went up one or two notches and his quality shone through in a big display.

Harry Winks’ Leicester stats vs Sheffield Wednesday

Had he been on the pitch for 45 minutes, there is every chance that Leicester wouldn’t have had to perform a huge comeback fight.

In the end it prevailed and that was because of Winks.

During his 45-minute spell he made more than 90 passes, misplacing only three of them while on the defensive side, he won all of his ground duels and managed to make two key passes.

It would be a very big surprise if he isn’t in the starting XI next week.
