Middlesbrough have continued their perfect start to the campaign as they earned a 2-1 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road.

This start to the Championship campaign for Middlesbrough under Rob Edwards was not expected by many; however, fans will be loving this early season form at the Riverside and will hope it can continue.

Edwards has admitted that there are more signings required for the club if they are to compete for promotion this season, while he also confessed Finn Azaz may soon leave the club for Southampton.

Middlesbrough have been keen to add firepower to their side, and this has seen them linked with a move for a former Juventus striker just hours before the match with Norwich City.

Middlesbrough win opening three games for first time in 31 years

This perfect start to the Championship campaign has seen Middlesbrough bring to an end an unwanted run, simply because it means they have made a fantastic beginning to a campaign.

A win over Norwich City today means it is the first time in 31 years that Middlesbrough have won three matches in a row.

They last achieved this feat in the 1994/95 season, a campaign where they would win promotion to the Premier League.

In that campaign they won their opening four games of the season as they kept four clean sheets in a row, while scoring six goals across those fixtures.

Middlesbrough fans will be hopeful that this will indicate how their campaign will finish this year, as they won the league.

They would not lose across their first seven fixtures, with their first defeat coming against Port Vale in mid-September.

Middlesbrough achieve new record against Norwich City

The victory against Norwich City means that Middlesbrough have created a piece of history, as they achieved a feat they had never done before against the Canaries.

A win means they are now unbeaten in their last five games away from home against Norwich City, having won three and drawn two.

It is the first time in the EFL they have gone five unbeaten away from home against Norwich, while the Canaries are now winless across their last eight league games against Middlesbrough.
