Millwall secured their first home league win of the season against Watford on Monday night, but one Lions ace won’t have been in a celebratory mood.
Alex Neil’s side beat Watford 1-0 at The Den courtesy of an early Camiel Neghli goal. Watford huffed and puffed but to no avail, with the defeat leaving the Hornets fourth from bottom in the Championship.
Millwall, who are now tenth, have been struggling with injuries this season, with Danny McNamara and Lukas Jensen still out long term.
That led to Lions boss Neil having to ‘juggle’ some ‘difficult’ factors in the win over Watford – including having to keep a player who had been sick on the pitch.

Alex Neil had to keep Aidomo Emakhu on after Millwall star threw up against Watford
Aidomo Emakhu played 67 minutes of Monday night’s clash before being replaced by Smallbone despite being sick at half-time.
This was due to Neil needing to manage the minutes of summer signing, Southampton loanee Will Smallbone after his calf injury.
After the game, Neil said: “Second half, we had to dig in. I thought certainly the last twenty minutes, the game became stretched. We got deeper. You could see some of our lads tiring.
“We’ve got young Derek [Mazuo-Sacko] who’s just come in, and we’ve had to rely on to play games. We’ve got [Thierno] Ballo who’s just come in to play games. Aidomo [Emakhu] was being sick at half-time, so we had to get him through fifteen minutes to try and take him off, because Will [Smallbone] and Macca are only really ready to do thirty minutes each. So a few bits to juggle, kind of difficult bits.”
Aidomo Emakhu’s impact at Millwall
21-year-old Emakhu signed for the Lions in 2023 from Shamrock Rovers and has made 60 appearances for the south London club since, scoring one goal and grabbing five assists.
Lions fans have faith he will be an important player for them despite not registering any goal contributions in the league this season so far.
It was his battle with Kayne Ramsay that saw the Charlton Athletic defender sent off in the derby earlier this month before Millwall went on to get a late equaliser.

He can have another big impact when Millwall travel to Swansea City this weekend.
