Sheffield Wednesday’s turbulent pre-season is over, and attention has firmly turned towards the challenge ahead in the Championship.
There have been problems throughout, as Dejphon Chansiri has struggled to keep the club ticking over without concerns.
Unpaid wages have been a large issue for Sheffield Wednesday, with a transfer fee embargo placed on the club, along with Danny Rohl’s exit as manager.
Henrik Pedersen is now in charge, looking to steady the ship from stormy waters and bring the club to calmer shores.
The Owls were handed a tough start to the campaign, though, taking on Leicester City after their recent relegation from the Premier League.
While there has been division at the club from the top, there is a clear connection with the players that could fuel any chance of survival.

Shea Charles spotted supporting Sheffield Wednesday players during Leicester City clash
With the difficulties facing Sheffield Wednesday this season, there will be a clear distinction between supporting the players and the club and the dislike for the current owner.
Sheffield Wednesday fans protested at the start of the Leicester game, all arriving after five minutes to send a message to Chansiri on a sale.
That solidarity is needed in the stands and has been shown not only from the fans, but from former players as well.
Shea Charles, who was on loan last season from Southampton, was present in the stands at the King Power Stadium, watching on as the Owls searched for their first points of the season.
While there’s no doubt he would’ve wanted his former team to do well, he was likely there to show support to his brother, Pierce.
Pierce Charles started in goal for Sheffield Wednesday and was called into action several times for the visitors.
While he couldn’t stop Leicester scoring twice on the day, he did show plenty of promise between the sticks in front of his older brother.

Sheffield Wednesday fans left impressed with Pierce Charles’ display against Leicester City
While Shea Charles was in the stands, Pierce Charles was out on the pitch, impressing for Sheffield Wednesday.
The young goalkeeper made plenty of great reaction saves, stopping Leicester from gaining a grip on the game earlier.
Fans made their thoughts clear on social media, praising Charles for his performance for the Owls.
“The spring in his step Pierce Charles gets in his reflexes is ridiculous,” one viewer said.
Another added: “Pierce Charles is 95% of the value of @swfc.”
Others reflected on how bad things could’ve been without the goalkeeper, adding: “If Pierce Charles isn’t in the net it’s 5-1.”
Another said: “Pierce Charles just doubled his value there.”
With Charles showing his quality, there will be some hope that Sheffield Wednesday can now keep hold of him before the window closes at the end of the month.
