Alex Mowatt has said that he and his West Bromwich Albion teammates have noticed a considerable change in the atmosphere at The Hawthorns this season.
Last year, Jason Molumby accused the atmosphere of being ‘flat’ in the Black Country.
Ryan Mason appears to have brought back that excitement and even though they lost to Derby County despite dominating the proceedings, the mood around the place is one of excitement rather than feeling like going to games is a chore.
For Mowatt and his teammates, a boost from the fans is always welcome, and he thinks that the Baggies faithful have been rewarded.

Alex Mowatt praises the West Brom atmosphere
West Brom are still in the play-off places as it stands, but have been far better on the road this season.
Saturday’s loss means that the Baggies have only won once at the Hawthorns, but the 30-year-old was still full of praise.
He told the Express and Star: “Even though we’ve only won once at home this season, The Hawthorns has had a bit more of a bounce to it.
“It helps we’ve started well, but there has been a different atmosphere here and we want that to be a theme going forwards.
“To do that, we know we’ve got to put in the performances and hard work which we know the fans appreciate.”
Safe standing installation has a lot to say for West Brom atmosphere
One of the big driving factors behind an improvement in the noise at the Hawthorns is the installation of safe standing.
Over the summer, two sections of safe standing were introduced into the ground, allowing fans to consume football in a different way.
Safe standing has been a huge success all across Europe and now it is here in the Championship, it is making a clear difference.
