Blackburn Rovers are currently in Spain for pre-season to prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 Championship season as they look to build on the encouraging finish to the last campaign.
Rovers are bidding for a play-off finish in 2025/26 after narrowly missing out on the top six at the end of last season.
It took some time for the team to adapt after John Eustace left Ewood Park to head to Derby County in February, but Valerien Ismael started to see results in the final weeks of the campaign that will give hope for supporters heading into the new season.
There were several players key to this good form at the end of the season; however, some of these players have been subject to interest from Championship rivals.
Andreas Weimann and Danny Batth have both moved to Derby. Tyrhys Dolan is yet to find a club following the expiration of his deal at Blackburn; however, he is unlikely to return to the club.
Callum Brittain is another player gathering interest, with the full back being linked to Middlesbrough and Derby County.

Callum Brittain talks about Blackburn’s pre-season in Spain
The 27-year-old has travelled with the Blackburn Rovers squad to Spain despite the interest in him from Championship rivals.
Blackburn’s squad were put through their paces in the Spanish sun, and Brittain let his thoughts be known about the preparations for the Lancashire club ahead of the upcoming Championship season.
Speaking to Rovers TV, he said: “It was a good one. Nice and hot. Lovely bike ride up the hill. As good as it can get.
“[It’s] beautiful to be fair. It’s nice. Just hot and dry. Not the best conditions for football, but it is hard work in it.
“If you can get through this heat, then you can get through anything back home.”
The speculation around Callum Brittain
Brittain was heavily rumoured to have been itching for a move away from Blackburn Rovers, as he refused to play in their pre-season friendly with Accrington Stanley.
This led many to believe he was definitely heading out the door, with Middlesbrough the favourites to land him, as he would help Rob Edwards deliver his ambitions at Middlesbrough, while Derby are also interested in him.

However, the full back has travelled to Spain and has been working hard in training and started in their 5-1 victory over Qatar SC.
His contract is set to expire next summer, and with the owners of Blackburn being known for being stubborn when it comes to negotiations, he may have to leave the club at the end of his contract like Dolan, Batth, and Weimann.
