Blackburn Rovers have already seen a number of players exit the club this summer, and there have been rumours about future departures concerning several players in the first team squad.

The Lancashire club have had to say farewell to several players that were key to the side last season and that helped them get within a whisker of making the play-offs.

Andreas Weimann and Danny Batth have both moved to Derby. Tyrhys Dolan is yet to find a club following the expiration of his deal at Blackburn; however, he is unlikely to return to the club.

Callum Brittain is another player gathering interest, with the full-back being linked to Middlesbrough and Derby County.

As these senior players gather the interest of Championship rivals, one of the club’s future stars has been the subject of rumours linking him to Premier League moves, and he has now seemingly indicated where his future lies.

Igor Tyjon has claimed he is living the ‘dream’ with Blackburn Rovers

The England underage star had been subject to interest from both Manchester United and Arsenal earlier in the summer window as he entered the final year of his contract with Rovers.

Now he seems to have made it clear he is happy to be part of the first-team set-up with Blackburn and to be learning from senior players while out in Spain for pre-season as he spoke to Rovers TV.

The interview took place after he scored against Qatar SC in a pre-season friendly, as Rovers won 5-1.

He said: “It is something you dream of as a kid. To do it as quick as you can and to get it done with the first team is just great. Hopefully get another on Friday.

“It’s hard to put into words; it’s just something you want to do as a kid to just score and to just do it with the first team. It’s great.”

Valerin Ismael on the future of Igor Tyjon

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Valerien Ismael has confirmed he and Blackburn Rovers have made a clear plan to try and convince Tyjon to stay put.

The England starlet would be given opportunities to land a place in the first team this season, with Tyjon only having a year left on his current contract, there is a drive to encourage him to sign a contract extension.

Ismael said: “Igor is part of the first-team squad. We make a clear plan with him. He didn’t have that from the past.

“At the end of the last season, I sat with him and his parents and explained the way we want to work with him, to improve him. He will have the chance in the pre-season. So, this is now what’s happened.

“Now it’s up to him to show us that he’s ready. At least we see the quality that he can help us, and we go from there. We have a clear plan with him to train with the first-team.”
